GIRI’S SIMPLE MOVES

Svidler vs Giri, Legends of Chess 2020

Hello Dear Readers,

It is not possible every time to execute a intricate tactical sacrifice to win the game. When the opposition is strong, the game will take a slow course where positional and simple play would be the most important tools to keep the game going. Today we are going to analyse the game between Svidler Peter and the Dutch grand master Anish Giri.

The game begins in a fairly simple way with a rare variation in the English opening. Giri makes no mistakes and gains edge in the later part by playing simple yet positionally effective moves.
